Marco D. Biemann and his British friend and underwater camera man Tony Exall produced a short documentary about how tourism – and in particular the Tresher Shark Tourism – saved the livelihood of the entire island community of Malapasqua. An island that not only suffered some damage during the storm, but nearly ALL tourists canceled their stay after the storm, depriving the community there of the much needed cash to rebuild. The sharks did not get affected by the storm at all, and once news came out the tourism numbers were nearly back to normal.
The documentary “After The Storm – A Shark’s Tail” won awards in Toronto, Yosemite, and Cannes.
